Tower of Hanoi Counting Activity:  The goal is to move all the discs from the left peg to the right one. Only one disc may be moved at a time. A disc can be placed either on an empty peg or on top of a larger disc. Try to move all the discs using the smallest number of moves possible. There are many versions of Tower of Hanoi games linked below.  You may want to do this game with 2 (you can do this in 3 moves) then 3 (you can do this in 7 moves) then 4 (you can do this in 15 moves) discs  to learn the pattern of how we solve this game with the least number of moves. 1) Intro: Click into the site for TowerHanoiGame  and set the puzzle  for  5 discs. 2) Math: Move all 5 disks from the left peg to the right one in 31 moves.  Print or save  your final screen to prove you could do this task in 31 moves.    3) Think: Describe the pattern that allows you to complete this task in the least number of moves?
