What do I need to enter?Sophomore standing or higher for Auto Mechanics I, which is a prerequisite for Auto Mechanics II. How Long is the Program?Auto Mechanics I is one hour a day for one semester. Auto Mechanics II and III are each three hours a day for a year and may be repeated. What Credentials Will I Earn?Students completing auto mechanics II or III will have a Certificate of Completion and documents of work completed, and will have entry level skills to enter the job market or go on to further training. They also may earn one semester elective science credit. Who will teach me?Bill Ellis, Auto Mechanics Instructor, has a bachelor's degree in vocational/technical education from Central Washington University and worked for twelve years as a journeyman mechanic. He attended trade school at Edison Technical, has taught in Sequim and at Peninsula College, and has been at Port Angeles High School since 1983. He holds a Master Technician certificate from A.S.E. (Automotive Service Excellence).
