Red Ribbon Week

October 25, 2007

Stevens’s middle school had a drug free bon fire and assembly. The night started off with an assembly with music while people were seated. Then at 7:15 the assembly was officially started. The school’s Choir started off the night with the National Anthem. Then following that the Orchestra played a few songs, with the jazz band following with 2 songs and then ending the assembly was the choir with one very inspirational song. Then we all headed outside to this big bonfire while some students handed Popsicle sticks to the passing students, staff and parents. These were supposed to symbolize the commitment to not do drugs. Then we all gathered around the caution tape which surrounded the big, smoldering bonfire. On the count of three we all threw our Popsicle sticks in and were going to stick to our commitments to stay drug free.
