Dear Parents,

Under the Impact Aid Section 8003 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), our school district qualifies for federal monies to help with the education costs of our students. This law applies to schools that are impacted by students whose parents or guardians are living on federal lands, live off but work on federal lands, or are on active duty in the uniformed services of the United States. Federal properties are not part of the local property tax base and are exempt from taxation; thus, it is important that the school district collect monies available through this provision. By completing the form on the back of this letter (if it applies to you) you are assisting us in these monies.

Your child has been sent home with this information and more on a pink flier given out at school. Please ask your child if they have the letter and fill out the back of the form if it applies to you and turn it back into the main office on or before November 2, 2007.
