Welcome to Team 8B's Homepage

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 1st full week of May.

The WASL is officially over. A great big thanks to all the parents for keeping their child well fed and well rested over the testing period. Attendance was at all time high. There were a few make ups, but not many. Thanks also, for the donation of WASL snacks. The PTO chipped in some money, and there was plenty to go around.

It’s a busy week, here at SMS. The Japanese Delegation left for Japan today, and won’t return for 2 weeks. It sounds like a great trip.

The Top 50 students visit the University of Puget Sound (UPS) tomorrow. Their bus leaves at 7:00 AM.

The All City Strings Concert is Thursday night at PAHS. Students should arrive in the proper attire at 6:59:59. Concert begins at 7:30 pm. It is awesome. You don’t want to miss this one!

The Book Fair is in full swing in the SMS Library. Send some $$ with your child. J Books are great things for kids to spend money on.

Honor Roll Breakfast for those earning Triple Gold will be Wednesday morning. Congratulations on a job well done!

Track has their first home meet right after school on Thursday. Home meet = competing at the PAHS track. Any volunteers? Contact Mr. Mills if you’d like to help out. dmills@portangelesschools.org

Please make sure that kids have paper and pencils! We still have 6 weeks of school, and a lot of work and learning will take place over the next 29 days!

The re-grouping of the Math classes is going really well! However, in order to keep up with grades on Skyward, our class lists need to be modified. Mr. Wagner is the person in charge of making those changes. He has been extremely busy finishing up with the WASL and getting it sent out for scoring. He’ll make the changes the 1st chance he gets; then Mr. Gundersen and Mr. Brinkmann can get caught up on grades. We apologize for the delay.
